Every Kid Outdoors was created for fourth graders and their families to discover our wildlife, resources, and history FREE! There are three easy steps for you to take and you'll be visiting America's parks, lands, and waters in no time.
1. Get your free pass!
If you have a US fourth-grader in your family you can visit the Outdoor Alliance for Kids “Get Your Pass” section and have your student complete an online game, and then download a personalized student voucher for print and use at federal lands and waters locations. This paper voucher can be exchanged for a more durable Interagency Annual 4th Grade Pass at certain federal lands or waters sites. The pass is valid September 1 and ends August 31 of your student's 4th-grade year.
A fourth-grader with a voucher or pass and anyone in the vehicle with them is admitted for free at sites that charge per vehicle. If visiting a site that charges per person, up to three accompanying adults will be admitted free with the fourth-grader who has a pass. If the fourth-grader and his or her family are riding bikes, up to three accompanying adults are included, too! The fourth-grader must be present to use the pass.
2. Plan a trip!
Use Find Your Park to search for park locations by state, or to search for parks by preferred activity. If you want to learn about wildlife refuges you can visit, along with information about the fish, birds, and other wildlife that call these places home visit U.S. Fish & Wildlife Services. At Discover the Forest you will find national forests to visit and learn about a free app called Agents of Discovery that uses the latest in augmented reality gaming to get kids active, engaged, and learning in our public lands.
3. Hit the road!
Enjoy national parks, lands, and waters for a full year! While you are visiting don’t forget you can also become a Junior Forest Ranger and Junior Snow Ranger too.
