The Aquarium of the Pacific’s mission is to instill a sense of wonder, respect, and stewardship for the Pacific Ocean, its inhabitants, and ecosystems.
On Friday, December 14, 2018, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM the Aquarium of the Pacific will be hosting an exclusive homeschool family event focused on the amazing ocean and how animals cope with cold water.
Homeschool Holidays features special holiday décor, snowfall in the Great Hall, and the Aquarium’s costumed characters in their holiday outfits. Visitors can also enjoy shopping and a special holiday menu offered daily in Café Scuba. While enjoying the aquarium, families will have an opportunity to explore interactive science stations with aquarium educators and winter themed activities.
The Aquarium of the Pacific created lesson plans to extend your learning experience before, during or after your trip to the aquarium.
Aligned with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), these inquiry-based kits encourage students to make observations using the Aquarium’s live streaming animal webcams.
The Webcam Resource Kits include lesson plans, short educational videos, worksheets, and web-based activities and resources for K-8th grade students.
Downloadable scavenger hunts for your students. These activity sheets with pre and post activities will enhance your Aquarium visit and learning experience.
The Aquarium is proud to introduce its newly created standards-based Chaperone Field Trip Guides.
Each guide includes a grade-specific theme to connect your students to the animal collection, suggested exhibits to visit, background information for parents, guided questions to encourage conversation, and activities to keep your students actively learning.
While they will be available when you check-in for your field trip, they are also available for download prior to your visit.
