Beginning Strings: Group instruction for 8 years+ A new approach to classical string instruments (Violin, viola or cello). Music is know to be one of the best ways to rewire the intellect for better functionality, listening to music involves the whole brain, but playing makes it look like the brain is a fireworks display! We will learn to play, and about reading music by reading rhythm patterns first! Classes WEDNESDAYS 4:45-5:45, starting January 10th for 11 weeks. $180 includes instruction and all handouts including a Rhythm workbook. Ages: 8+ (younger children do better in private lessons) Level: No previous instruction Homework: short 5-10 practices every day to build skill Instrument: Rental/lease/purchase NOT INCLUDED. I have many instruments available for rent - first come first served. Class Size: 2-6 students (smaller classes work best) Location: 27503 Falling Star Lane, Santa Clarita -- The same class, BEGINNING STRINGS is also being offered through HuckleBerry Creative Learning Center - I am the teacher: This is a morning class if that is more convenient. Thursdays 9:30-11am, starting 1/4. $230 (or $240 depending on # of classes attending at Huck) and $15 materials fee. -- I also have 2 levels of Orchestra (both are $165 each) starting on Friday afternoons starting 1/12 - for students who already play Violin, Viola, Cello or String bass. Students would need to contact me for an audition. Also, have a few openings for private students as well.
