GIA is committed to teaching gemology to students of all ages of who discover a love of earth science and a desire to learn more about gemology. In 2002, in response to a growing need for quality science courses, GIA created a program to teach gemology, mineralogy and geology to students and youth groups across the country. It was designed to meet the needs of school districts and youth groups that want to augment their existing earth science programs.
