This tour is part tram ride and part walking tour. Board the Seabiscuit Tram near Clockers' Corner to begin your tour of The Great Race Place. The Seabiscuit tram will take you to the stable area, receiving barn, and the Paddock Gardens. You will see Seabiscuit's original stall and barn, areas used during the filming of the 2003 movie Seabiscuit and visit the jockey's room, silks room, saddling paddock, the walking right and the carriage horses in their home under the Grandstand.
Don't try to google an address for Santa Anita Park as your GPS will take you to (Arcadia) gates that are locked. Directions: 10E to Baldwin Avenue, head north approximately 4-1/2 miles past Huntington Drive. See Gate 8 on right (near JC Penney and big electronic marquee), make a right into track down driveway. At Y in road go left to guard shack who will direct you to parking.
Notes from the venue: This tour is on the horses' schedule so if you are not on time for the start, the tour must begin without you. Tram can accommodate one wheelchair, can make arrangements if more than one is needed. Walking portions of tour are on bark and wood chips and there is a small step in jockey's room. If you are bringing a small baby, and should the child begin to cry, please step away from the group as it will be difficult for the tour guild to try and speak and be heard over the child.
